Golf Club hit a hole in one for GDA

The pennies and pounds have been counted and we're delighted to say a huge, great big thank you to Cirencester Golf Club for raising over £2,200 for GDA's club for deaf children, Cirencester Deaf Children's Club (CDCC).
Paula Lester Powell, the ladies captain for the club for the year contacted the charity back in November 2013 to invite GDA to be their benefitting charity for new year. Of course we snapped up the offer and it's been a joy to work with Paula and other members at the golf club over the last twelve months.
Along with the help of a dedicated team behind her Paula has organised a coffee and cake morning, a Pro-Am day in June and a recent competition day to finish with a fantastic total of £2,231.
The money Cirencester Golf Club has raised has already enabled CDCC to enjoy a magical day out at Gifford Circus in September and the remaining funds will allow the club to appreciate more fun activities over the coming year.
Chief Executive Jenny Hopkins said "We can't thank Cirencester Golf Club enough, and especially Paula Lester Powell the ladies captain, for selecting Cirencester Deaf Children's Club as the club's chosen charity this year. It has been a real pleasure to welcome Paula to CDCC at various times and especially to invite her along to our Gifford Circus outing in September. This was only made possible by the money that had been raised and I know she was moved by seeing the delight on the children's faces there."
If your club would like to help GDA in a similar way we'd love to hear from you. Contact us today on 01452 372999 to find out how our organisations could work together to give deaf and hard of hearing people in Gloucestershire better opportunities and independence.
