GDA launches pop-up equipment shops

New pop-up shops to help those living with hearing loss

Local deaf charity Gloucestershire Deaf Association (GDA) have launched a series of pop-up shops across Gloucestershire to enable more people living with hearing loss to access specialist listening aid equipment which can help improve quality of life.

Deafness can be incredibly isolating and have a devastating impact on a person’s physical and mental wellbeing. Listening aid equipment such as TV amplifiers, flashing doorbells and amplified telephones can make all the difference to someone living with hearing loss. With transport cuts creating an even greater sense of isolation among the elderly, equipment such as these can be a real life saver.

Pop-up shops will be taking place in a number of locations across the county, including Gloucester, Cheltenham, Stow-on-the-Wold, Moreton-in-the-Marsh and North Leach, and people are invited to book appointments to see GDA’s Sam Quinson by calling 01452 372999 or emailing admin@glosdeaf.org.uk.

Each appointment will offer an opportunity to receive expert advice on which equipment is right for you as well as GDA’s ‘try before you buy’.
