Reg's triumphant Henley Triathlon

Reg swims, cycles and runs for deaf people in Gloucestershire...
On Sunday 23 June, GDA colleague and supporter Reg Cobb competed in the Henley Triathlon to raise money for Gloucestershire Deaf Association.
The months prior Reg had been busy training when he had a spare five minutes in his busy schedule. And all the training certainly paid off as he completed the course in spectacular style. After taking on a 750m swim and a 20k bike ride, Reg then had a 5k run to contend with. With the weather on his side, well apart from the slight breeze and his support crew of family and friends behind him, Reg raced round the four laps of the course to finish the course in an amazing 1 hour and 40 minutes.
Reg has so far raised over £1,600 inc GiftAid which is simply wonderful and will go a long way to ensuring GDA can continue providing valuable services and support to hard of hearing and deaf people in Gloucestershire.
Gemma Sills, GDA's Events and Membership Fundraiser said "We are all immensely proud of Reg and his achievements at the Henley Triathlon yesterday. It was great to be there to cheer him on along with his family and friends. Reg has been an absolute hero in raising the money and training for the event over the last few months and I am so pleased he achieved his goal of finishing the course. It's thanks to the efforts of people like Reg that GDA can keep on making a difference to the lives and wellbeing of people living with hearing loss in Gloucestershire".
"We must also say congratulations to Reg's three children Jovita, Serena and Frasier who completed the Henley Triathlon junior version on the Saturday, again in aid of GDA - it really was a family affair".
