Lip-reading classes return for 2017

Popular lip-reading classes for hard of hearing return for the new year

GDA (Gloucestershire Deaf Association) has announced new 2017 winter / spring term dates for lip-reading classes across Gloucestershire.

GDA’s popular lip-reading classes led by qualified lip-reading tutors provide a friendly and supportive environment and are a perfect opportunity for anyone living with any level of hearing loss to learn an essential life skill. Deafness can have a devastating impact on a person and as a result many people become isolated and lonely. Learning to lip-read can help give someone living with hearing loss their confidence and independence back.

Classes will be held weekly in Cheltenham, Cirencester and Gloucester and will begin the week commencing 9th January 2017. New students are welcome to come along to enjoy a free taster session before committing to the classes. Classes cost £3.00 per person.

  • Cheltenham classes are held on Tuesdays between 2pm and 4pm at St Lukes Church Hall
  • Cirencester classes are held on Tuesdays between 10am and 12pm at Community Room, The Waterloo
  • Two classes are held in Gloucester, both at Gloucestershire Deaf Association (GDA), Colin Road, Barnwood on Tuesdays between 10.30am and 12.30pm and Mondays between 10am and 12pm
  • Stroud classes are held at St Albans Church Hall on Tuesdays between 1.30pm and 3.30pm. New classes for Stroud will begin after Easter.
