GDA youngsters get creative

Sunday funday for GDA's young people

On Sunday 14th June members of GDA's deaf groups, GDYZ and CDCC came together to enjoy a fun day of creative activities which will come together to form a big piece of artwork that will proudly go on display at GDA's community centre in Barnwood.

The day was possible thanks to funding from The National Association of Decorative & Fine Arts Societies (NADFAS) and was overseen by local artist Marietta Crockford, who guided the young people to create their own masterpieces.

Each of the young people bought out their inner-artist and created their own 'ship' using paints, stickers, glitter, buttons and a lot of imagination. It was a fun day all round and topped off with a delicious BBQ courtesy of two BBQ-ing master volunteers.

Thank you to NADFAS, Marietta and the volunteers who came to help out at the event and, of course, thanks to our budding artists who really got into the creative spirit of the day.

Keep posted for the finished product which we'll share with you shortly.
