Whats On
GDA offers free Money Matters workshops

Starting on Monday 10 June, GDA will begin a series of free workshops for deaf and hard of hearing people on Money Matters.
Thanks to some funding awarded to GDA from the Lloyds TSB Foundation, we are able to hold a series of free workshops discussing matters surrounding managing finances. Deaf and hard of hearing people will be able to learn how best to manage their household budget, how to become a 'super scrimper' or how to switch utility bills, plus much more.
The workshops, beginning on Monday 10 June will be held by experts from local businesses and will be an opportunity for learners to ask questions about financial matters they are concerned about.
So often hearing impaired people struggle to manage their finances because information from banks, mortgage advisors and utility providers isn't available for BSL users. As a result many have to rely on family members or friends to assist them with their money matters.
As part of the new GDA Education Centre, launched at the beginning of the month, we have set up the Money Matters workshops as a way of empowering hearing impaired people with the knowledge to take control of their own finances. And we are delighted to be able to offer the workshops for free.
Anyone interested in finding out more about the Money Matters workshops can contact the GDA office on tel: 01452 372999, fax: 01452 372288, email: reg.cobb@glosdeaf.org.uk or via MyFriend Network 55124001, or simply pop along to one of the workshops on Monday 10 June.
