GDA's community centre receives a face-lift

Local deaf charity GDA (Gloucestershire Deaf Association) has started the new year with a new look community centre which recently received a refreshing face-lift.

The local historic venue which dates back to the late 19th century boasts original beams which showcase the impressively high ceilings. Many may remember the building as Barnwood Primary School before GDA took over the premises back in the early 1990’s. As well as being a popular meeting point for Gloucestershire’s deaf and hard of hearing communities, it is also a well-liked destination for a variety of corporate and personal occasions.

The venue has two rooms available for hire; the main hall which can hold up to 75 people seated and the Ruby Room which is perfect for smaller, more intimate meetings (approx 30 people). The Ruby Room also offers a dance-sprung floor and full length mirror making it a perfect venue for exercise and dance classes too.

Parking is present on-site and full kitchen facilities are available for anyone wishing to cater events. Both rooms also provide free WIFI connection.

All areas of the GDA Community Centre have been sensitively revamped offering light, airy spaces which are perfect for corporate events as well as personal family occasions.

Thanks go to Gloucester Quays Rotary Club who kindly donated their time to help decorate the hall.
