Deaf Awareness for the future generation

St John’s on-the-Hill parent and GDA Trustee, Peter Maynard arranged a special deaf awareness assembly for pupils and staff of the school with GDA's Reg Cobb, who is profoundly Deaf and a British Sign Language (BSL) user.
Reg gave an inspirational talk about the work of GDA as well as teaching the captive audience how to fingerspell the BSL alphabet, how to sign their names and other useful words. Reg also spoke about how the charity helps hearing impaired people to participate fully in the community by providing support that improves the quality of life, independence and social inclusion.
GDA is now looking forward to working further with St John's on-the-Hill to further benefit the pupils and the charity.
