Deaf awareness feedback

It's always nice to receive feedback from happy customers and we thought we'd share with you this recent response we received following a deaf awareness session with NHS apprentice Health Care Assistants, hosted by our colleague Reg Cobb   

1. Was the session engaging?
  • Questions that were asked and fun activities were engaging. Very interesting.
  • Was relevant to my work, very useful.
  • Speaker was very good at engaging with the group and not just talking at us.
  • I learnt something new about sign language.
  • It was very intriguing and was very engaged. S
  • peaker used comedy to help explain what he was talking about.

 2. List two things that you have learnt from the guest speaker?

  • Feeling, emotions of hearing impaired people.
  • Alphabet through sign language.
  • How hard it is to lip read.
  • I have learnt that you must be very expressive.
  • Signers must be qualified, 7 years’ experience.
  • 93% of what we do is shown in our facial expressions.
  • 80,000 people in the UK are severely deaf.
  • How to spell my name in sign language.

3. Do you have any suggestions to improve the session?

  • Have no improvements - it was perfect, brilliant.
