Donation from Cotteswold Freemasons Lodge

Donation from Cotteswold Freemasons Lodge, Cirencester to help Deaf children in Gloucestershire.

On Saturday 4th February, Mr David Wheeler, the Worshipful Master of the Cotteswold Freemasons Lodge, Cirencester, presented a cheque for £600 for the members of the Lodge to GDA's Cirencester Deaf Children's Club (CDCC).

CDCC is a local club run by volunteers and working under the auspices of the charity, Gloucestershire Deaf Association (GDA). It aims to encourage social interaction and language development among young deaf children through craft activities, music sensory experiences and outings, in order to build their confidence and raise their self esteem before they join mainstream education at our local primary schools.
Although a significant amount of the charitable donations raised by Gloucestershire Freemasons goes towards national and international charitable causes they also support many local charities in the county making grants and donations exceeding £100,000 each year. This year Freemasons will be celebration the tercentenary of the United Grand Lodge of England and the three Circenester Lodges will be holding a balloon festival and an open weekend in May as part of those celebrations. Full details of these and other public events will be publicised nearer the time.
GDA is extremely grateful to the Cotteswold Freemasons Lodge and their support.
