Every Saturday Evening at the Gloucestershire Deaf Community Centre

GDSSC Bar Manager
Gloucestershire Deaf Association has a special relationship with Gloucester Deaf Club, not least because we share the same premises. The Gloucester Deaf Club treasurer, Richard Fletcher, sits on GDA's Board of Trustees and provides an important link to the Deaf Community.  In addition, GDA Chief Executive Jenny Hopkins attends regular meetings with five Gloucester Deaf Club members to answer any questions club members might have about GDA's operations or developments with regard to the Community Centre. At GDA we believe having our charity office situated in the very same building where our different beneficiary groups meet and socialise is a key benefit.

Gloucester Deaf Club meets every Saturday evening at the Gloucestershire Deaf Community Centre.  For members it is a highlight of their week, when they can escape the everyday challenge of coping in a mainstream hearing world and relax among friends, using their preferred language of BSL.  Activities during the evening may include Bingo, cards, darts, skittles, or simply socialising over a drink.  The club runs its own bar at the Centre.
